Have fun using different kinds of paper of your choice. Make a journal, or a scrapbook for yourself or as a present! The class is structured to have each participant leave with a completed journal or bound book. Please be sure to acquire all supplies needed ahead of time! Leather and thread are available for purchase at both locations! PRO TIP: Volunteer with us the session before the workshop and pick out your leather or fabric scraps as a part of your 5lbs of free fabric! Supply List: -Paper for book pages: regular copy 8.5" X 11" paper is good for learning. Minimum 12 sheets, or more. Any kind of paper is possible. -A scrap of leather for cover – the size of the paper plus half an inch or so for the spine. For example, 8.5" x 11" paper will make a journal 5.5 (width) by 8.5 (height) by 0.5 (thickness), and require a piece of leather 8.5" x 11.5" (0.5 spine). To add pages and make a journal thicker, allow more leather for the spine area. -Ruler, preferably centered. Embroidery thread is also possible – we can convert it to waxed thread. -Optional knife for trimming -Optional bone folder, round pencil, or chopstick for folding pages. Please consider saving fabric from landfills for your projects! FABSCRAP's variety of curated scrap packs online is a great choice.
