The drawstring bag - it’s your ticket to low waste living AND the perfect intro to sewing! In this workshop, you’ll learn how to sew the hardest working bag in your grocery cart & ditch plastic bags forever. Drawstring bags are a perfect way to shop for & store fruits & veggies. They also work great for bulk bin shopping AND for holding your beautiful homemade loaves of bread. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to cut fabric, how to use a zigzag stitch, and how to make super sturdy drawstring bags that’ll last for YEARS. Reusable, washable, & plastic-free. This is a beginner-friendly project for all ages. Make one and you might have to make 10 more! Supplies: -½ yard of cotton fabric (or a little less); poplin or quilting cotton works great; -Ribbon, cord, or twine for the drawstring - about 1 yard. -Sewing machine & thread -Scissors -Pins -Safety pin -Ruler/measuring tape P.S- If your sewing machine can’t do a zigzag stitch, that’s OK! Join anyway!
