DETAILS

This event has already occurred, but you can still register to receive a recording of the workshop. Madhu Rathnasekar, creator at Arya Trinkets & Threads, will be introducing you to the basics skills of hand sewing! She will guide you through the basic hand stitches that you will need to know to stitch fabric together, mend or even embroider. The workshop will include introductions to 3 to 5 styles of sewing (depending on the experience level/interest of the people attending). For this session, you will need the following: Piece of fabric- something easy to hold and easy to sew on. Felt is recommended for beginners. Needle Yarn- embroidery yarn preferably, but any yarn will work. Make sure that the yarn will pass through the eye of the needle. A pair of scissors Needle Threader (Optional) Thimble (Optional) Embroidery Hoop (Optional)- Make sure that your fabric is big enough to fit on the hoop. Please consider saving fabric from landfill for your projects! FABSCRAP's scrap packs are great for beginners. Suggested donation for this Workshop: $10. Your donation allows us to provide a stipend to our Workshop Instructors for their time in sharing their skills with the FABSCRAP Community. All who register will receive a recording of the workshop.
